Providence Preparatory School aims to provide the necessary classes for our students to progress through their educational career, and ultimately earn a High School Diploma based on the requirements established by the State of Texas. Earth and Space Science
This 2-semester course is a conceptual study of geological systems, the rock cycle, landforms, planetary studies, solar systems, and the scientific method. This class is designed for 6th-8th grade students. Hands-on activities in class support the concepts presented.
This 2-semester course is designed for 6th-8th grade students and covers the history of our nation. Abeka curriculum is utilized in this class.
This 2-semester course is designed to follow Math 6. Topics covered include multiplying and dividing whole numbers (up to 3 digits), multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting fractions and decimals, calculating with percent, geometry, graphing, and an introduction to equations and inequalities. “Teaching Textbooks” curriculum is utilized in this class. Students will complete a project each semester which applies their creativity and mathematical skills.
This 2 semester course is designed to follow a study of Pre-Algebra. Topics covered include equations, integers, powers, roots, graphing functions, systems of equations, and inequalities. “Teaching Textbooks” curriculum is utilized in this class. Students will complete a project each semester which applies their creativity and mathematical skills.
In this 2-semester course students will read and discuss books and poetry chosen by Providence Preparatory School which are age and content appropriate. Topics such as story and character development, and recognizing literary devices are covered.

Spanish I and II
These courses are taught through Homeschool Spanish Academy. During a scheduled class time, the student(s) communicate in real-time through “Google Hangouts” with a native Spanish-speaking instructor in Guatemala. The curriculum is designed for any age-level. However, Providence Preparatory School suggests students begin these classes at the 8th or 9th grade so that they can earn High School credit for these classes.
